Project Description

International Day for Disaster Reduction, October 13rd, 2017

The International Day for Disaster Reduction began in 1989, after a call by the United Nations General Assembly for a day to promote a global culture of risk-awareness and disaster reduction, which includes prevention, mitigation as well as preparation activities.

This day has become a major global activity to raise awareness on this issue and has been held in various ways to encourage efforts to establish more resilient communities and nations in the face of disasters enhanced by Climate Change.

At Mayakoba we have the security and environmental contingency assistance program that plays the role of preventing and to attend environmental contingencies derived mainly by meteorological phenomena.
