The First-Annual American Express Mayakoba Masters of Food, Wine and Golf event was an absolutely sensational experience. The Riviera Maya was completely transformed into a golf and culinary mecca. Every aspect of the event raised the bar of luxury and grandeur and put Mayakoba at the center of opulence.
The world famous El Camaleon 18-hole golf course designed by Greg Normal, was at the center of the 4-day event which hosted over 300 people who indulged in electic dining, tasting and 5-star amenities worthy of the highest standards. The El Camaleon golf course is over 7,024 yards in length and took golfers through a gorgeous tour of Mayakoba with two separate ocean front holes offering spectacular views at every turn. The two-day tournament was truly like no other. From hole to hole, golfers were treated with a new experience. The culinary aspect of the event was carried form the golf course during the day to special exclusive celebrations held each night at one of Mayakoba’s three holes. The highlights were the signature Mexican dinner with world-renowned Chef Richard Sandoval and the Mayakoba Masters Supper Party by Veuve Clicquot. The most impressive dinner of them all was the closing dinner party which was held at the Banyan Tree Mayakoba’s Sand Beach Club. Everyone had the chance to interact with the celebrity chefs under the stars and were even surprised with a private firework show to end the 4-day long event.
